CASE STUDY - GEOMETRIE COLLECTION LAMPS
CUSTOMER - ED LIGHTING
The team at ED Lighting created the Geometrie Collection: an innovative project that combines technology and craftsmanship, born and grown by the four-handed collaboration of Milan designers Claudio Molinelli (light professional) and Ettore Lariani (architect and designer).
The Geometrie Collection is made up of three series of highefficiency LED lighting fixtures that are composed of an aluminum profile, Plexiglas® diffuser, and components of hand-finished oak or HP 3D HR PA 12 in the latest generation of 3D printing.
The handcrafted wood, with its characteristic veins, enhances the unique quality of the components.
The HP 3D HR PA 12 material is rough to the touch and solid to the sight, bringing attention to the ancient cast-iron castings with tar-like coloring.
A project of "industrial craftsmanship"—two seemingly opposing terms—represents the path of the team. From concept to realization, the components can be reproduced serially by following the typical steps of industrial design, but also by hand finishing, assemblies, and attention to details with “Made in Italy” craftsmanship.
